A Gateway to THE CULTURE OF Líl’wat Territory

What began as a comfortable stop for travellers has grown into something deeper—a place rooted in community, culture, and history.

OUR STORY

The Hitching Post has long welcomed travellers exploring the Sea to Sky region—people passing through on adventure, visiting family and friends, or just looking for a place to rest and recharge.

As an Indigenous-owned organization, we are committed to strengthening community wellbeing through employment, training, and local opportunity, while continuing to invest in safe, dependable, and sustainable operations. We are also actively improving our systems, facilities, and guest experience, with a focus on accessibility, efficiency, and long-term growth.

A STAY ROOTED IN CULTURE

In 2024, the Líl'wat Nation took the reins of the motel, marking the Nation's first step into tourism and giving this familiar place a deeper purpose: welcoming visitors into the territory in a way that reflects the community itself. As an Indigenous-owned business operating within Líl'wat Territory, we saw an opportunity to invest in something that serves both our community and the many people who travel through—a gateway to a place we have always called home.

Since then, we’ve made thoughtful improvements to the guest experience—but the real draw has always been the same. Pull up, step out, and wake up to views of Mount Currie right outside your window. There’s nothing quite like it.

AN OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE

For us, the Hitching Post is more than just a place to stay—it's an opportunity to share the stories, culture, and landscape of Líl'wat Territory with people from all over the world. Every guest who walks through the door is a chance to share a culture that has always been worth experiencing. We're proud of the role it plays in our community and look forward to welcoming guests for years to come.

Our Partners

We’re fortunate to work alongside organizations that share a commitment to community, place, and meaningful travel in the Pemberton valley and beyond.
